Discussions on Modern Teaching and Learning Practices Dr. Robin Wright from the Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Development at the University of Minnesota will be on campus on March 17 to lead a series of discussions on using scientific teaching practices to improve student learning in college science classrooms. Events include: A Workshop on Scientific Teaching from 9:30am - noon. New understandings of how students learn can help us be more effective educators. Participants will put these principles into action as they create new activities and assessments they can use in their own classes. The workshop location is to be determined. Dr. Wright will share her experiences teaching a large introductory Biology college course that features student discussion as the primary teaching tool.
