DESCRIPTION:
UBC Okanagan Library invites applications from innovative, enthusiastic, service-oriented librarians for a continuing position as a Learning Services Librarian (Learning Commons). The successful candidate has specific responsibility for the management and future development of the Learning Commons. Reporting to the Chief Librarian, UBC Okanagan Library, the Learning Commons Librarian provides leadership and vision in the creation and development of instructional programs and services to enhance student learning, engagement and success on campus. The Learning Commons Librarian is a key collaborator with various campus partners, including teaching faculties, the Centre for Teaching and Learning and IT departments, to plan and implement a program that includes services to faculty as well as a growing student body on an expanding campus. With colleagues, the Learning Commons Librarian is responsible for faculty liaison in assigned academic units including collection development and subject specific instruction. The Learning Commons Librarian is a knowledgeable and experienced contributor to reference services and participates in the overall planning for library services and spaces.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: An ALA accredited MLIS or equivalent; knowledge of library systems and applications; demonstrated competencies in reference and instructional methodologies in an academic or research setting; excellent organizational and analytical skills; excellent written and oral communications skills; proven ability to motivate and lead teams of staff and student employees; the ability to perform effectively independently and in collaboration with others.
Preferred: academic library experience; a background in science

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:
This is a continuing position. If eligible and qualified, the successful candidate may be appointed with a confirmed appointment. Otherwise, there will be an initial three-year probationary appointment. Librarians are members of the University of British Columbia Faculty Association and the terms and conditions of appointment are governed by collective agreement.
    Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

ENVIRONMENT:

UBC Okanagan is a campus of the University of British Columbia situated in Kelowna, about 400 km east of Vancouver in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. Administratively, UBC Okanagan Library reports to the Associate Vice President (Learning Services) along with IT Services, the Centre for Teaching and Learning and Continuing Studies. Dental Librarian:

Comprehensive research university library in exciting, affordable city,
seeks candidates with energy, creativity, flexibility, and strong
commitment to public service. {The Dental Library, as part of the
Health Sciences Division of the University Libraries, provides
information services and support to the faculty and students of the
School of Dentistry, and other schools in the life sciences.}

* Provides the leadership in the delivery of all Dental Library
services;

* Makes the Dental Library a viable part of the curriculum;

* Manages all aspects of the Dental Library (including the
Instructional Resources Library). This includes personnel matters,
collection development, space planning and program planning;

* Provides for the administration of the Health Sciences Library
in the absence of the Director, Health Sciences Libraries.

* Participates in the strategic planning for the University
Libraries and implements strategic initiatives as they apply to the
Dental Library.

Reports directly to the Director, Health Sciences Libraries.



Minimum requirements:

* ALA-accredited MLS

* 3-plus years experience with increasing levels of
responsibility and supervision of professional or paraprofessional
staff.

* Exceptional interpersonal, communication, planning, and
organizational skills

* Ability to work positively, productively with diverse
constituencies in environment of rapid change

* Strong public service commitment

* Evidence of mature judgment

* Evidence of professional initiative

* Understanding of scholarly research environment

* Potential to meet promotion requirements in non-tenure track
appointment



Preferred:

* Additional graduate degree

* Experience in medical/dental library environment

* Experience working with health sciences faculty and/or user
groups.

* Member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals

Posting Job Description SUMMARY OF POSITION

Warner Bros. Studio Facilities seeks an Archival Representative for the
Corporate Archives/ Museum department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES




* Inventories new acquisitions for Corporate Archives, working
with other departments more familiar with subject matter in order to
obtain accurate information.

* Evaluates feature film and television assets to be added to the
archive collection.

* Works with Department Manager on all logistics regarding
physical acquisition of assets into Corporate Archive collection.

* Ensures all controls & security systems are maintained for all
archive pieces.

* Performs research for various departments pertaining to
information in archive files and archive collection.

* Interviews retirees & other WB information sources for
historical information on Warner Bros. Assists in maintenance of Studio
Museum and presents background information on Exhibits for guests &
tours.

* Assists in design & presentation, as well as coordination of all
logistics for touring exhibits.

* Attends weekly staff meetings to report new developments.



JOB REQUIREMENTS



* High School diploma required; Fine Art degree or some art/art
history courses preferred.

* Must be able to communicate effectively & tactfully with all
levels of personnel and outside contacts.

* Must have excellent organizational and research skills.

* Must be able to lift up to 50+ lbs and to commute to archive
facilities off the lot.

* Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook are required.

* 2-3 experience in archival procedures including computer systems
preferred.

* Previous entertainment experience helpful.
