This is a great class activity that provides a foundation for discussion. Please encourage all you know to comment.

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has launched a public comment period on its Library Media Standards, which were recently revised.
This field has undergone significant change since 2001 when the standards were first published, and the revised standards address many of those changes.
Eventually, the revised Library Media Standards will serve as the basis for the assessment for National Board Certification in Library Media. National Board Certified school librarians and other educators are encouraged to provide feedback to help make this new edition the strongest vision possible of what accomplished school librarians know and are able to do.
Please read the standards and provide feedback. The online survey will remain available for public comment until 11:59 PM, EST on February 17, 2010.
