The School of Library and Information Science, University of
Kentucky, has received funding from the Greater Midwest Region, National
Network of Libraries of Medicine, National Library of Medicine, to involve LIS
students in an outreach impact study. The purpose of the project is to
engage a group of students, under faculty guidance, to plan and implement a
study to determine the impact that GMR funding has on the ability of
institutions within the 10 state region to perform outreach on behalf of the National
Network of Libraries of Medicine. The study is being conducted in
two phases: a planning phase and an implementation phase. Funds from the
award are being used to provide tuition scholarships for students participating
in the study.
