Dear Deans, Directors, and Department Heads,
The Office of Alumni Affairs is coordinating an excellent
career mentoring program for UT students. The Tennessee Apprentice
Program is in its second year and is currently recruiting students for the 2010
program; student applications are due Friday,
January 29th.
An apprenticeship allows students to explore potential
future careers and connect with alumni who have been in their shoes and want to
help guide them in the right direction. Students may find that a prospective
field is just what they had always hoped it would be—or they may find
that a field of interest is much different than expected.
Please share this information with students as it provides
them with the opportunity to meet a UT alum at their work place to learn more
about a specific career. The website provides details as well
as a link to the application. Many students met with alumni last year and
offered very positive feedback on their experience.
