Upcoming Event Category : Systems and Applications Message : On Saturday night, 10/16/2010, during the standard system preemption period (midnight to 4am), OIT will be performing both hardware and software maintenance on the LDAP directory servers on the Knoxville campus. The master LDAP server will be down for the first hour of the outage. During this time, password changes and other NetID modifications will not be possible. During the outage, mail routing and authentication functions, along with services such as Blackboard, SMTP, CPO, etc., should continue to work. All other NetID authentication and authorization functions should also continue to work. However, performance will be quite sluggish while the the LDAP directory server contents are re-indexed. We don't anticipate needing the full 4 hour preempt window, and full services may be restored as early as 2am.
