Job Title: Student Library Assistant
Department: Hodges Library, Library Assessment
Manager: Debbie Valine, Assessment Analyst,

Hours: 5-10 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between 8
am and 5 pm, September 2009-May 2010
Pay: $7.25/hour
Duties:
Under the direction of the UT Libraries Assessment Analyst,
assist with library assessment research and statistical reporting. Duties
could include:
·
Create tables and charts in Excel and PowerPoint
to summarize library usage statistics
·
Assist in the analysis of survey data using SPSS
·
Categorize and summarize responses to open-ended
survey questions
·
Assist in website usability testing projects
·
Assist in implementation of library user focus
groups
Required Qualifications:
·
Ability to analyze quantitative data and perform
very basic statistical analysis (frequencies, means, medians)
·
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
·
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and
Word
·
Ability to work independently
·
Can be depended upon to show up to work when
expected (or call if not able to come in)
Preferred Qualifications:
·
Coursework and/or experience in research or
statistics
·
Experience with SPSS or other data analysis
software
