State Ferries is looking for you. We are offering a rare opportunity
to manage the extensive Vessel Technical Library that collects,
archives, and preserves vessel drawings, studies, technical manuals,
letters, vendor information, government publications, historical
records, reference documents, and other vessel -related publications
for the Vessel Design department.

The Library and Archival Professional 3 provides personalized library
service by anticipating, extrapolating, evaluating, and customizing
information and services. Develops needs assessment tools to keep
current with customers needs and interests. Functions as the content
or process specialist on customer problems. Provides vessel
documentation in response to requests/inquiries (e.g. Public
Disclosure Requests) and performs other library, research, records
management, and department -supported related tasks as needs arise.

The Library and Archival Professional 3 is responsible for
administering all activities involving the descriptive cataloging and
disposition of Vessel Design records in conjunction with the State
Records Retention Center and the State Archives, and provides
consulting services to improve library service and development of
libraries in the state.
Provides focused reference services drawing upon technical paper and
electronic resources from the WSDOT collection and external resources.
Plans and coordinates the electronic filing, document retrieval,
receipt and issuance of vessel drawings, and maintains the basic
operations and upkeep of the display graphics imaging media system
(OCE TCS400) and scans, produces prints and DVDs.

Successful candidate must have the following:
Master's degree in library science from an American Library
Association- accredited program and certification by the State
Librarian authorized through the Office of the Secretary of State or
certification by professional portfolio as authorized through the
Office of the Office of the Secretary of State and three years
experience as a professional librarian.
