We are seeking a student enrolled in an MLIS program who is interested in reference and instruction services. We expect to have a full load of classes in the fall ranging from freshman level English composition to senior capstone classes. The practicum would involve every aspect of instruction from working with instructors, planning, delivering, and assessing instruction services. We are also in the beginning stages of developing and information literacy program and this is something a practicum student could be involved in. They would also have the opportunity to provide reference services to the University students, faculty, and staff. We feel that this would provide a diverse and valuable range of experiences for a practicum student. We plan to train and include them in the day-to-day workings of this library, giving them real world experience that will be an asset in their job search.
