Subject: Special Collections Librarian at the University of Texas at San Antonio Special Collections Librarian The University of Texas at San Antonio Library is seeking a dynamic, energetic, user oriented librarian to provide leadership, organization, and instruction skills in the management of and use of the University's special collections materials. Reporting to the Head of Archives and Special Collections, this position provides reference assistance in support of the academic and research use of the collection; initiates outreach and instruction to faculty, students, and the general public; identifies items requiring conservation work and coordinates such activities; performs collection development and assessment, and the management of funds in support of selected materials; and donor development in coordination with supervisor. Qualifications: Required - ALA accredited Master's Degree or a master's degree in a related discipline. Minimum of one year of experience with special collections materials, along with reference services, collection development practices, and outreach with different user groups. Preferred - Knowledge and experience with rare and antiquarian books, and Texas, Southwest, Borderlands and/or Spanish Colonial history. Experience in teaching or bibliographic instruction, and exhibit preparation. Ability to speak and read Spanish. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications, $44,048 minimum for a 12-month appointment plus benefits package.
