We specialize in the library field and are currently helping Chattahoochee Valley Libraries (headquartered in Columbus, GA) with their search to fill their Children's Department Head position. While the position requires an MLS and five years of children's experience with a preference for prior supervisory and management experience, the Library will look at candidates with relevant pre-professional experience and will consider "promise and potential"--perhaps a slightly less experienced professional who has that blend of creativity, energy and drive to develop as a staff leader for the system. The successful candidate will need in-depth knowledge of child development and literature and a passion for developing and implementing children's programs and services. S/he will join an outstanding team of library professionals providing quality services to the area. The hiring salary range is $45,625-$53,738 with excellent benefits. Situated about two hours south of Atlanta, Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is a four-county library system serving Columbus, Georgia and the surrounding area (total pop. 200,000+). The Columbus Library features the Aflac Children's Room and new outdoor Children's Reading Garden providing a beautiful environment for children's programs and services.
