POSITION: The William G. Squires Library at Lee University seeks a service-oriented enthusiastic Technical Services Librarian. This is a ranked 11-month, tenure track position. The Librarian has primary responsibility for supervision of the Technical Services department which includes management of the integrated library system and all cataloging functions. The Librarian supervises copy cataloging and materials processing and prepares original cataloging of all formats. The Librarian shares with all other professionals in reference, instruction, and collection development. Some evening and rotating weekend reference hours are required. As a university faculty member, the Librarian serves on University committees, as an academic advisor, and in other faculty activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ALA-accredited MLS/MIS; a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in an academic library; experience with an integrated library system, preferably Innovative Interfaces' Millennium; creative thinking and current knowledge of MARC formats, OCLC, AACR2, LCSH, LC classification system as well as emerging trends in cataloging. Also required are excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and potential to meet teaching, service and education requirements to achieve tenure and promotion. Lee University is a Christ-centered liberal arts university affiliated with the Church of God.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A second advanced degree.

START DATE: July 1, 2009. Earlier start may be requested to aid in a smooth transition.
