Dear Dr. Wirth,
We expect the official posting of our Communications
Coordinator position (classified as Information Specialist I by HR) to take
place some time this week. If you know of anyone who might be interested,

Information Specialist I – Office of Research (NIMBioS)
– Pay Grade 40. The Communications and Administration Coordinator
(CAC) will handle public relations and communications for the National Institute
for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis (NIMBioS). This includes
communications through websites, print media, professional scientific and
educational publications, and all other public relations efforts. The
Coordinator will determine strategies for producing and maintaining text,
photographic and video archives of NIMBioS activities, and develop appropriate
graphics for web and print activities. The CAC will promote NIMBioS through
advertisements and announcements, and be the main point of contact with
University communications staff. The CAC will work with NIMBioS Outreach
and Education staff to facilitate communications related to Outreach and
Education efforts. The CAC will have primary responsibility for composing
regular reports and newsletters as required by sponsoring agencies as well as
maintaining contact lists and managing NIMBioS listserves. Qualifications: M.S. or higher degree with
course and/or research experience in a life science or quantitative field (B.S.
with extensive science communications experience would be considered).
2-3 years experience in communications with strong preference for experience in
science communications; demonstrated experience in developing public relations
materials including press releases; experience developing and maintaining
websites, including graphics; strong written and oral communication skills; and
ability to take a leadership role in promoting a National Institute. To apply: Submit a CV with cover letter and
