County Library Seeks
Director
Responsibilities:
The director is responsible for the administration and financial management
of the Noxubee County Library System and the Ada S. Fant Memorial Library
which serves as System headquarters. Administration includes, but is not
limited to, working with the Library Board of Trustees, working with local
fielding officials to obtain library funding, working with library staff in
order to provide traditional and emerging library services and developing,
revising and administering library policy. The director is responsible for
accounts payable, payroll, grant writing, computer system administration,
e-rate applications and local, state and federal reporting. The director
must be able to work well with the library patrons, seeking to maintain
excellent public relations between the Library System and the communities
served. Housed within the Ada S. Fant Memorial Library is the Harold Gibson
Brown Memorial Collection with its own advisory board. The director¢s
salary is augmented by this board.
Requirements: Applicants
must have a Master¢s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school or be
working toward that degree. Applicants must have experience in dealing with
the public. Library/administrative experience preferred. Applicants must
have computer skills.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary will be at entrance level as determined by the System¢s
Personnel Policy manual. Benefits include personal and sick leave, 100% paid
state health insurance, participation in the state¢s life insurance
program, deferred compensation, retirement plan, and workman¢s
compensation.
