Position:                      Director, Northwest Regional Library System (NORWELD)

Organization:              The Board of Trustees seeks a Director to lead a multi-type, state-chartered regional library system (www.library.ohio.gov/publib/ohiorls.html) serving a 25-county area in northwestern Ohio and comprised primarily of 51 public libraries.  NORWELD has an annual budget of approximately $350,000 and employs a staff of 3.2 FTEs.  For more information about NORWELD please visit: www.norweld.lib.oh.us

Location:                     Bowling Green, Ohio

Compensation:            Annual salary of $40,000 to $43,290 DOQ (working 25.0 hours per week)

                                    Benefits include health insurance and participation in OPERS retirement program

Minimum Requirements:        

• ALA-accredited MLS degree
• Minimum of five years experience working in public libraries
• Ability to envision and promote the role of the regional system in the future
• Solid understanding of the philosophies, trends, and “best practices” in the library and information technology fields
• Outstanding collaborative leadership skills
• Frequent regional and statewide travel in personal vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous supervisory experience in public libraries
• Successful experience in developing/managing budgets and writing grants
