The Laramie County Library System (WY)--one of the top 10 destination libraries in the country and the 2008 LJ Library of the Year-seeks a creative, dynamic professional librarian to become the next manager of Youth & Outreach Services. The successful candidate will have an MLS, a minimum of four years relevant experience, and in-depth knowledge of child/teen development and literature and/or course work in this field. The Manager of Youth & Outreach Services, as part of the management team, is responsible for the organization, management, supervision and effective functioning of the Youth & Outreach Services Division. This includes staff management and supervision of 8 FTE, youth programming and services, bookmobile/homebound services, grant writing, and working collaboratively with community organizations and agencies. The Laramie County Library System is a thriving library located in Cheyenne, WY-90 minutes from Denver, CO. This system of a new (2007) main library, two branches and a bookmobile serves 86,000 people, circulating 888,000 items annually, with a staff of 56 FTE and a budget of $4.6 million.
