Library Director Position

The Library Board of Directors is seeking a dynamic leader to transform 
the Library’s facility and culture and to champion the evolving and 
increasingly important role of the Library in the community. Reports to 
and works closely with city and county appointed board of 7 members, city 
and county government officials and staff. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: MLS from accredited program, with 
preferably 1-2 years of professional experience with some 
supervisory/managerial experience desirable. Though candidates with 
professional experience or experience in a public library are given 
priority, applications also accepted from beginning librarians with an MLS 
and expertise in technology. Must meet eligibility requirements for 
professional certification with the state of Tennessee. 

Hiring salary dependent on qualifications and type, amount and 
appropriateness of experience.
