Purpose of Position

The LDAM Project intern will be responsible for cataloging digital images for inclusion in the Digital Asset Management system.  There is a 3 year backlog of image records that need correct talent, character and source metadata added to them.  The intern will also be responsible for adding descriptive keywords from a controlled vocabulary to the image records.  This internship is within the IT Department and under the supervision of the Archivist.  The internship is unpaid, but qualifies for school credit.

 

Responsibilities

LDAM Project

  • Copy catalog image records using legacy data to provide correct talent, character, and source metadata
  • Add descriptive keywords to the image records
  • Assist with other projects within the IT department as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a Library Science program
  • An interest in cataloging and special collections
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be organized, analytical, and reliable
  • Must be accurate and able to ensure data integrity
  • An interest in the Marvel Universe is a plus
