Instruction Librarian or Library Instructor

Gainesville State College - Gainesville Campus

 

Gainesville State College invites applications for a twelve-month tenure-track faculty position in the John Harrison Hosch Library beginning January 5, 2009.

Responsibilities:

·         Teach 6-7 hours of Library credit research classes and 40-50 one-hour general library instruction classes per year

·         Coordinate and schedule all general Library instruction sessions at the Gainesville Library. Provide a variety of materials including customized handouts

·         Serve as selector for Reference and as a library liaison to one of  the College’s academic divisions

·         Provide reference and circulation assistance at the Information Help Desk about 8-10 hours per week

·         Maintain the Library room schedule for classes

·         Coordinate Library public relations efforts including orientation tours, campus events, and  relations with regional public and academic libraries

·         Serve on College, University System, and/or community committees

·         Participate in appropriate faculty development activities

 

Qualifications:

 

Salary/Rank:    

·         Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience

·         Anticipated salary range:  $35,000- $42,000
