The Lupton Library seeks applicants
for a part time circulation supervisor at the
Required qualifications:
§
High school diploma (minimum of two
years of college preferred)
§
Demonstrated successful experience
working with the public including strong public service orientation and
excellent customer service skills.
§
Demonstrated successful supervisory
experience.
§
Demonstrated flexibility and ability
to work as part of a team in a complex, changing environment.
§
Demonstrated ability to make consistently
good decisions when interpreting policies and/or procedures, as well as ability
to be diplomatic and negotiate
§
difficult situations.
§
Demonstrated ability to effectively
interact and communicate with a variety of constituencies verbally and in
writing.
§
Demonstrated computer and
information literacy, including familiarity with Windows desktop, Microsoft Office
(Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and the Internet.

Reference Librarian
(Part Time)
The Lupton Library seeks applicants
for a part time reference librarian at the
Primary responsibility of the
position is to provide reference service to the UTC community through in person
and virtual means. Other reference
department duties may be assigned. Schedule includes Sundays 2-10 pm,
plus 6 additional hours to be worked
during the week and/or in the evening.
The Lupton Library employs 16
librarians and 15 staff members, has an annual budget of over 2 million
dollars, and collection holdings of more than 500,000
volumes, 1,000 print/microfilm
journal subscriptions, 90 databases, and over 20,000 online journals. The
Lupton Library is equipped with 70 public computers, 10 group study rooms, and
two fully equipped library instruction classrooms. The Library offers a
comprehensive range of public services, including proactive outreach,
instruction, and reference. Recent projects at the Library include a podcasting
grant, a Learning 2.0 staff development program and migration to a new open url
link resolver.

online information resources and services

Competency with virtual reference services
