Reference Librarian/Latino Services
Sedona Public Library
Under the general direction of the Library Director or
Head Librarian, this employee performs responsible professional and supervisory
work in planning, implementing and managing a comprehensive program of services
to library users. This position holds the classification of Librarian 2. The
work involves planning, developing and coordinating services and resources
designed to serve the reference and bibliographic needs of the public, with a
focus on the Latino community. The work also includes outreach efforts to the
Latino community as well as program planning assistance to the Youth Services
Librarian. Spanish language skills are a must. The work requires the exercise
of considerable professional skill, initiative and independent judgment. It
also involves staff training and development.
A Master’s degree in Library Science and/or any
combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the
potential ability to perform the duties of the position
Attends professional meetings, maintains memberships
in professional library associations and participates in their activities.
Keeps informed of current trends and developments affecting libraries.
