Library Faculty Positions at Virginia Tech (3 Special Collections Positions)

 

In a dynamic environment of increasing collaboration with collegiate faculty and expansion of library services to the academic community, the University Libraries at Virginia Tech (www.lib.vt.edu) seeks to appoint service-oriented, innovative and self-motivated librarians to the newly created/existing library faculty positions. These position will serve integral leadership roles in the rapidly expanding Special Collections department.

 

·         Public Services Archivist

·         Acquisitions and Processing Archivist

·         3-Year Project Archivist

 

These professional positions are full-time, with the first two positions on a 12-month Continued Appointment (tenure) track and the third position a restricted three-year appointment. The successful candidates will join the effort to promote Special Collections as a center of research, with shared responsibility for coordinating reference inquiries, campus outreach, classroom instruction, acquisitions and processing, and digital projects.

 

The positions report to the Director of Special Collections.
