Processing Archivist
UPS Company Archives
Grade Level:  Contract (Specialist 32 - 36)
Reports to:  Company Archivist

Focus: 		
The Processing Archivist is responsible for processing and organizing
archival material within the UPS Company Archives

Responsibilities:

*Processes company material including physical sorting and archival
re-housing of various types of materials including: paper,
photographs, film, video, audio recordings, and electronic records

*All aspects of processing and creating finding aids for a collection of
records

*Provides reference and research assistance

*Participates in the selection and preparation of archival materials
for digitization

Deliverables:

*Organization of unprocessed company materials

*Creation of basic finding aid for materials processed

*Creation of electronic Archival documents

Skills/Education:

*Should have or be working on a Masters Degree in one of the following
areas: History, Historic Preservation, Information Science, Library
Science, or related field with course work or equivalent experience in
archives and/or manuscripts

*Minimum of one year of experience working in an archival setting

*Experience with information technology application in an archives
and/or library environment, including imaging technology and
electronic databases; working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office
application and Adobe Photoshop

*Strong organizational skills and effective oral and written
communication skills

*Proven success as a disciplined self-starter in an archival setting

*Ability to adhere to a project plan and be productive with minimal
on-site supervision
