POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
FALL 2008
Position Summary: The University of Central Arkansas College of Education seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor in Library/Information Science in the Department of Teaching, Learning & Technology. UCA is a dynamic student-centered learning environment with an FTE that has grown from 7,930 to 10,851 in less than five years. Total enrollment exceeds 12,000. Undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs are offered.
The University of Central Arkansas is located in Conway, Arkansas, a city of 55,000. Conway is only 35 miles by interstate from Little Rock, the state capitol and a metropolitan area with an internationally linked airport served by all major airlines.
Qualifications:
Doctorate in Library/Information Science or Educational Media/Instructional Technology (or related field)
If doctorate is in a related field, then candidate must hold an AASL (American Association of School Librarians) or ALA (American Library Association) accredited master’s degree
Experience in online course delivery
Experience/Skills:
Strong background in technology
Teaching experience in public school setting (classroom and media center)
Knowledge of national accreditation standards (AASL)
Teaching experience in higher education preferred
Ability to work in a collegial team environment
Responsibilities:
Teach, advise, and supervise graduate students in library and information sciences
Participate in service activities
Conduct scholarly activities
Salary:
