Immediate Availability
Project Archivist.
A part-time position is available for an archivist to contribute to a number
of projects involving archival processing and description, user access, and
information management. The projects will involve the development of
controlled vocabularies and thesauri, indexing, and processing of both digital
and paper materials. An understanding of archival processing methods and
web technologies is required. Applicant should be able to communicate
effectively both verbally and in writing, and be able to focus on details and
accuracy while not losing sight of the bigger picture. A degree in
archival studies, public history, or an information management related field is
required. Significant, demonstrated, successful work experience may
fulfill all or part of the education requirement.
The time commitment
for this position is approximately 20 hours per week, and is flexible. There is
potential for evolution of the position into a full-time commitment, based upon
the success of the candidate. Compensation depends upon experience, with a
minimum starting rate of $20.00 per hour. The Archives is a highly
