LIS coordinates instruction services
for the University of Texas Libraries, and works closely with subject
specialist librarians and faculty to integrate information literacy and
research skills into campus teaching and learning (www.lib.utexas.edu/services/instruction).
LIS is a highly collaborative, team-oriented unit that takes an innovative,
service-oriented approach to helping the UT-Austin community become information
literate in a technology-rich environment.
Required
Qualifications: MLS from an
Preferred
Qualifications: Experience teaching library
instruction sessions. Experience
creating library instruction materials such as tutorials, research guides and
assignments. Experience providing reference service. Experience
collaborating with faculty. Experience assessing student learning. Demonstrated
potential for leadership in university, state and national programs.
Successful candidates will also display evidence of initiative, creative energy
and resourcefulness and a proven ability to work collaboratively and
efficiently in a fast-paced and evolving technological environment.
Salary and
Benefits: $44,000 - $47,000 annually, depending on
qualifications and experience. No state or local income tax.
Standard state benefits package including annual vacation and sick leave, paid
holidays, retirement plans, and health insurance options (comprehensive major
medical, dental, vision, life, and disability). Deferred compensation and
tax sheltered annuity programs also available.
