Archives Assistant at
Job Description:
Under supervision of the Head of Archives and Special
Collections, processes and preserves records of the College. Carries out other
duties and projects as assigned, including the
following:
Duties:
•
Assists with processing of special collections, and creating finding
aids.
•
Assists with transfer, storage and disposition of inactive
records.
•
Assists with weeding of collections.
·
Assists in developing records
schedules.
Qualifications:
•
Demonstrated practical knowledge of archival policies and
procedures.
•
Ability to work independently and to exercise initiative and
judgment.
•
Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, orally
and in writing.
•
Working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications and computing
applications.
•
Must be able and willing to lift up to 40 lbs.
•
Working knowledge of DACs preferred but not required.
•
MLIS/MA degree from an ALA-accredited program with a specialization in archives
or equivalent combination of education and work in archives or manuscripts
environment is preferred, but not required.
Salary:
$20/hr for 15 hours a week.
