Statewide Digitization Project

Needs Student Assistants to help process files.

 

Position: Student Library Assistant Position (2 available) – Record creation

 

Department: Special Collections Library, Volunteer Voices Project

 

Hours: 10-15 hours per week; schedule is negotiable within our business hours (9:00-5:30, Monday-Friday).

 

Required Qualifications:

• UT student (undergraduate or graduate)
• Detail oriented
• Computer experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to work independently

 

Preferred: Interest in Tennessee history, manuscripts, or librarianship. Familiarity with OAI, MODS, TEI, or other forms of metadata.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Create a MODS records for each item scanned. In some cases, this will involve the creation of a transcription of the item being handled.
• Other duties as assigned
