Library Associates Companies (LAC) seeks a Library Technician – Technical Services for a law firm in West Los Angeles, CA. This is a full-time position.  We are looking for someone who is service oriented and a team player.

Responsibilities

Cataloging  maintenance:

• Familiarity with an ILS (integrated library system) used for cataloging, circulation, serial and acquisition modules;
• Perform copy cataloging utilizing standard databases;
• Perform processing and labeling of new library materials;
• Assist in copy cataloging and maintenance of bibliographic records such as replacement volumes, etc;
• Prepare office copies to be distributed to the attorneys;

Circulation and ILL:

• Operate automated library circulation system

• Responsible for circulation activities, such as check-in, check-out, circulation reports and other associated activities
• Perform ILL requests and returns

Shelving:

• Responsible for shelving books and  periodicals;
• Responsible for periodic weeding of the print collection with supervision;
• Preparing Daily papers.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1-2 years of experience as a Library Technician;
• Previous experience in a technical services environment;
• Previous experience in a law library setting;
• Proficiency using Microsoft Suite;
• Must have strong time management skills;
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
