| Answers requests for information from library users and trains them to navigate all of the library's collections including books, periodicals, and online resources. Recommends titles and websites. Plans, promotes, implements and evaluates programs and instructional sessions, primarily for adults, such as book discussions, computer classes, and other timely programs. Continuously analyzes assigned areas of the collection, weeding and replacing items as appropriate, using the Collection Management Coordinator's guidelines and schedule, as well as circulation data. Selects items of local interest/need within budget policy and guidelines. Serves on library committees and teams, sharing tasks and making recommendations as appropriate. Performs routine task/duties such as cataloging paperback books, creating webliographies/bibliographies, ordering and maintaining various forms, submitting information for monthly reports, and creating displays and exhibits, etc. Reaches out to potential library users. Represents the library at community events, makes presentations and offers opportunities for organized groups to visit the library to encourage library use. Consistently offers the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers, demonstrating the values and qualities that are the hallmark of public service in Henrico County. Performs related work as assigned. | |
