JOB SUMMARY: The Computer Information Specialist will facilitate the web-based and traditional instruction services for The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. This position will also assist in administrative functions of grants and contract management. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED; four (4) years IT support experience to include web page development, training, or facilitating informational/training workshops or classes. OR a Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and related work experience will be accepted in lieu of experience. Must have experience working Apple PC and proficient with software such as MS Office and Photoshop; and must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. TRANSCRIPT IS REQUIRED IF USED TO QUALITY FOR POSITION.

This was actually my former position before moving to California, and I can personally say that it is a wonderful job.  I worked here full-time while attending the SIS DE program full-time.  As part of this job, I gained experience in library instruction, biomedical database searching, program planning, grants and contracts, budget administration, community outreach, and so much more.  I also had the opportunity to serve as co-author on several papers, posters, and articles, and I delivered presentations at several regional and national conferences....all because of this job!  The supervisor for this position (my former boss) is an amazing mentor who encourages employees to grow professionally, academically, and personally.  And, since I was a UT employee, I received a full fee-waiver for my SIS DE courses (in addition to my regular salary and very generous annual and sick leave, plus lots of paid holidays).
