The Libraries and the University: The Purdue University Libraries, http://www.lib.purdue.edu/, have embarked upon a dynamic new role within the University, emphasizing a closer integration of the Libraries into the academic mission of Purdue.

Duties & Responsibilities: The Digital Resources Librarian reports to the Associate Dean for Information Resources and Scholarly Communication and has the responsibility for the general management and overall review of electronic resources, including negotiation of licenses and pricing terms, analysis of use, and collection assessment. Members of the Libraries faculty must meet Purdue requirements for promotion and tenure.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Library Science (ALA accredited or equivalent). Knowledge of collection development and licensing issues relating to e-resources; demonstrated successful experience in working in a collaborative and collegial research library environment; strong analytical and decision making skills; demonstrated knowledge of the application of information technology in relevant areas; experience with major automation systems; superior interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students; willingness to participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives; and ability to work independently and as a team member in a dynamic environment.

Desired: 1-2 years of academic library experience.

SALARY: $43,000 and up, depending on qualifications.

STATUS AND BENEFITS: Faculty tenure-track. Rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending upon qualifications. Twelve-month appointment with annual vacation of 22 working days. TIAA-CREF retirement. Flexible benefit programs.
