Librarian - Collections Development - Digital Services -- California
Baptist University -- California
California Baptist University, an evangelical Christian university
affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, invites
applications for tenure-track positions to begin August 2008 in the areas
listed below. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist
University and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to,
excellence in teaching through the integration of the Christian faith and
learning. A terminal degree in the field indicated is preferred, although
candidates with a master's degree who are working toward a terminal degree

Librarian - Collections Development
Under the supervision of the Director of the Library, the Collections
Development Librarian will work closely with teaching faculty to expand
the library's print, audio-visual and electronic collections. The
successful candidate will have a working knowledge of and experience with
automated library systems and collection development processes. MLS or
equivalent degree from an ALA accredited institution required. This is a
12-month, tenure-track faculty status position.
Librarian - Digital Services
Under the supervision of the Director of the Library, the Digital Services
Librarian will evaluate current and emerging technologies for delivery of
reference and information services (e.g., rss, blogs, federated searching,
virtual reference, alternative delivery options for content), plan and
implement digital services, provide leadership and training for librarians
in use of technology-based services and resources, participate in the
design and development of web and other materials and participate fully in
providing reference and instruction services. Candidates should
demonstrate proficiency in the use of print and electronic information
resources, strong technological expertise, and current awareness of issues
and trends in information technology and public service and web development
and delivery. MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited institution
required. This is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty status position.
