The University of Illinois Office of Business and Financial Services =
(OBFS), Business Information Systems, is seeking an Information =
Architect to initiate innovative design and production of page level =
schematics, forms, and prototypes for the web. The IA will be =
responsible for the overall Content Management of the OBFS web site. =
This position may be located on either the Chicago or Urbana-Champaign =
campus. Other duties and responsibilities include:

1.	Participate with team members in gathering business requirements with =
a focus on user interface, usability issues, and content management.=20
2.	Translate business requirements into detailed user interface =
documents by applying the principles of cognitive science, information =
science, and information design.=20
3.	Work effectively on a cross-disciplinary team that includes =
developers, OBFS subject matter experts, and database administrators to =
define and design the functional user interaction, navigation, data =
schemes and flows, and usability of OBFS web-based projects.=20
4.	Design and coordinate user research and testing to produce useful, =
usable, and engaging user interface design specifications.=20
5.	Generate reports and assess trends in user traffic, usage patterns, =
and user feedback, to help define short and long-term goals and suggest =
improvements/solutions.=20
6.	Coordinate with OBFS subject matter experts and University groups to =
ensure the OBFS web continues to meet customer and end user needs.=20
7.	Assist in the development, documentation, and quality assurance of =
the OBFS web.=20
8.	Manage workflow both internally and externally to ensure timely =
approval of documents for all web materials.=20
9.	Establish guidelines for web maintenance and collaborate with other =
BIS technical staff regarding ColdFusion and Microsoft SQL database =
applications.=20
10.	Work with Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, HTML, sHTML, XML, XSL, CSS, =
and templates. Update content daily on XML, XSL, HTML, sHTML and CSS =
pages.=20
11.	Operate as a web publisher by moving web related files, such as =
html, shtml, xml, cfm, cfc, between development, test, and production =
servers and checking most files for errors and correctness.=20
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Graphic =
Design, Electronic Media or related field with a minimum of three years =
work experience in Usability and web design, publication, project =
management and Content Management. Other required qualifications =
include: strong oral and written communications skills with a command of =
the English language, including grammar; knowledge of industry related =
software, such as Macromedia's Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, and =
Microsoft's Visio and Office 2003; hand-code ability of HTML, sHTML, =
XML, XSL, CSS, and templates; excellent organizational skills; and =
ability to set and achieve goals and meet deadlines. Working knowledge =
of any or all of the following is a plus:  Active Directory, Microsoft's =
Internet Information Services, Office 2007, Windows SharePoint Services =
3.0/Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Content Management =
Systems.  Portfolio of professional work that demonstrates versatility, =
style, and a solid!
