Resident Librarian --  College of Du Page -- Illinois
 
The College of DuPage, a dynamic community college with an annual
enrollment of 30,000 students, is embarking on its sixth residency program
in community college librarianship. We offer a two-year residency program
which exposes the successful candidate to a wide variety of library
functions in a state-of-the-art facility. We seek a recent graduate from
an ALA-accredited Master's degree program in Library of Information
Science to begin residency in September, 2008.Raise the StandardResident
LibrarianDuring the two-year program the resident will work in selected
public and technical services areas with mentors and participate in
professional development. The resident will design and carry out a
significant research, instructional or service-based project during the
second year. There are also opportunities to participate in national
teleconferencing projects and teach in a Library Technical Assistant
program. Assignments may include day, evening and weekend hours. This nine
month academic year assignment provides opportunities to earn significant
additional income through overload and summer remuneration.A Master's
degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution awarded
between August, 2007 and June, 2008 is required. Up-to-date computer and
Web skills as well as a demonstrated willingness to work in a team
