Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Administrative Services and working within a collaborative environment, the Director will lead the Libraries' renovation, reconceptualization and new construction projects. Working with the Facilities Operations Manager, the Director will oversee the dayto-day facilities needs of four library buildings, including the Langson Library, Science Library, and Gateway Study Center on the UCI campus, and the Grunigen Medical Center Library in Orange. Currently, the UCI Libraries are engaged in a multi-million dollar renovation program that will see major changes in library user, staff and collections spaces. In addition, planning will begin soon for a new library building. Renovation and construction projects are expected to involve complex project management; assessment of evolving user needs; and proactive planning to accommodate growing collections in varying formats, new personnel, and the proliferation of electronic resources and tools.
