The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks candidates for the position of Digital Interfaces Librarian. Under general supervision of the Coordinator, Library Systems and Web Management, guide the process of content creation and maintenance for web services including creation of policies and procedures for editing, vetting, review, final approval and weeding. Evaluate the effectiveness of the libraries digital presence through usability testing, statistical analysis, and development of human computer interaction studies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Association-accredited library and information studies program.
• At least five years of experience in a comparable library system with not less than three years experience with web site creation and development.
• Demonstrated successful management experience with large scale digital projects.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate decision making in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to work in a collaborative environment and ability to handle multiple priorities in a library embracing advanced information technologies.
• Previous experience managing digital assets including expertise in archiving and metadata standards.
• Experience with XML, XHTML, XSLT, CSS and other development tools.
• Experience testing interfaces for usability and effectiveness.
• Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of best practices in web and information architecture.
• Technical training and teaching experience.
• Experience writing user documentation.
