Associate Dean for Library Services --  Shippensburg University of
Pennsylvania -- Pennsylvania
 
Shippensburg UniversityAssociate Dean for Library Services
Position Description:The Associate Dean for Library Services reports to
the Dean of Library and Multimedia Services. The Associate Dean manages
and oversees daily library operations, directly supervises all library
support staff, and oversees library-wide facilities and space management.
The Associate Dean supports the Dean of the Library in planning and
management of library budgets, strategic planning, staff management, and
special projects. This position serves as the primary library
administrator in the absence of the Dean and represents the Dean as
assigned.Qualifications:Required: A master's degree in library and/or
information science from an ALA-accredited program and 40 semester hours
of graduate credit, or a second master's in an academic discipline, or an
additional advanced degree or certificate. Successful experience in
progressive responsibility in library leadership or administration.
Experience in strategic, fiscal and program planning, including planning,
developing and evaluating programs and personnel. Demonstrated knowledge
of academic libraries and the use of evolving technologies in libraries.
Evidence of scholarly activity. Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to
team work, and demonstrated ability to lead through collaborative and
shared decision-making. Evidence of a commitment to understanding diverse
populations will be required as part of an on-campus interview. Preferred:
