Assistant or Associate Professor of Archival Studies --  Auburn University

Archives: Archival Studies. The Department of History at Auburn
University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of
assistant or associate professor in Archival Studies. The appointment will
begin August 16, 2008. Ph.D. in History prior to employment date is
preferred, but candidates with an MA or MLS will be considered. Preference
will be given to candidates with significant archival and teaching
experience. Experience in the application of information technology in the
management of archival holdings desired. The appointee will be responsible
for teaching courses in the department's existing graduate archival
studies program (which collaborates with four partner schools), developing
other graduate and undergraduate courses in an expanding public history
program, developing and supervising internships, and teaching other
history courses as required.  Please send a letter of application,
transcripts, vita, evidence of teaching effectiveness and archival
experience, writing sample, and three letters of recommendation to the
address below. The salary will range from $50,000 to $60,000 based on rank
