Reference and Instruction Librarian --  St. Olaf College -- Minnesota
 

The St. Olaf libraries seek an enthusiastic and gifted librarian to join
the department of reference and instruction. Reference librarians work in
partnership with St. Olaf faculty to teach undergraduates to conduct
research in a variety of disciplines. Last year the reference staff
developed and delivered presentations in over 400 classes. 
We seek candidates who are exceptional teachers, skilled researchers, and
can inspire a love of research in a lively and committed student body.
Specific responsibilities include course-integrated library instruction in
the disciplines of Social Sciences (particularly Economics, Management
Studies, Psychology and Nursing), assisting students and faculty with
their own research, working at the reference desk, serving as the
collection-development liaison to specified departments, and staying
current with trends in academic libraries and the liberal-arts curriculum.
Other responsibilities will depend upon the candidate's background and
expertise.
A Master's degree in library/information science from ALA-accredited
institution or foreign equivalent is required; additional graduate degrees
are preferred.  
St. Olaf College, a residential campus with nearly 3,000 students,
