The process has resulted in campus-wide Undergraduate Student Learning Outcomes and a strengthened first-year writing program, both of which have a strong information literacy component, providing unique opportunities for developing a campus-wide, integrated information literacy program. The newly formed Coordinated Educational Services (CES) Department is part of the Libraries' Academic Programs Division. CES was created to provide leadership for development and coordination in several areas that span the division including information literacy, learning spaces, digital reference, online tools, and multicultural outreach. The Libraries are seeking an innovative, energetic, and collaborative librarian to join this new department. The Information Literacy Librarian will coordinate programmatic efforts to integrate information literacy and research skills throughout the university curriculum. The successful candidate will be expected to forge new relationships and create new initiatives that respond to trends in teaching and learning. S/he will work closely with the University Libraries' Digital Library Development Lab to create innovative tools and services as part of a broad information literacy program.The University Libraries are an integral part of campus life and a significant contributor of resources and programs within the state, region, and broader profession. The Libraries offer a highly collaborative environment, programs to develop and integrate digital resources and tools, digitization services, information literacy initiatives, a commitment to organization development, and a record of national and international collaboration. The Libraries are engaged in the development of new learning environments, including the innovative SMART Learning Commons, a collaborative approach toward student success.The University of Minnesota is located in the center of the vibrant Twin Cities metropolitan area.
