The University of Rochester seeks an enthusiastic and creative Engineering Librarian for the Carlson Science and Engineering Library. Reporting to the Director of the Science and Engineering Libraries, the successful candidate will work within a team of six science librarians to provide reference, outreach, and collection development services in a highly automated environment. This position offers an opportunity to serve as liaison between the libraries and the faculty and students in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and develop innovative instructional services. Services and collections in the Carlson Library support the information needs of over 300 faculty and post-doctoral researchers, 600 graduate students and 1,900 undergraduates in biology, chemistry, computer science, earth and environmental sciences, engineering, and mathematical sciences. Applicants are required to have an ALA-accredited MLS; basic knowledge of science or engineering information resources; excellent communication skills and ability to work creatively and flexibly in a rapidly changing environment; strong commitment to user-centered services and to teaching; experience working independently and collaboratively; demonstrated computer and internet skills.
