Supervisor of Collection and Research Services
(6541BR)

The Division of Libraries at New York University (NYU) seeks an
experienced Supervisor of Collection and Research Services (this is a
non-Librarian position).  This position will supervise Collections &
Research Services' administrative operations and staff, and develop and
implement systems and procedures. In conjunction with Director of
Collections & Research Services and the Head of Collection Development,
assist in the acquisition and management of electronic resources and
supervise processing. Oversee Bobst Library's gifts-in-kind programs.
Assist in the identification, recommendation, and licensing of resources
and ensure vendors' delivery of resources. Supervise creation and
maintenance of both electronic and paper records for new acquisitions.
Maintain collection development policies, selectors' handbook, and other
resources that are updated on department website, and oversee website
maintenance.
The position qualifications are: Bachelor's degree and 2 years'
related library experience or an equivalent combination. Must include
experience with collection administration and office administration,
including staff supervision. Excellent oral and written communication
skills. Knowledge and reading knowledge of spreadsheet and database
applications.  Knowledge of HTML; ability to develop web pages and related
resources. Experience with an integrated library system and knowledge of
SGML, XML, MS Excel, and MS Access preferred.  The preferred candidate
will also have reading knowledge of at least one Western European language
(besides English).
