Digital Initiatives Librarian
The digital initiatives librarian is responsible for building a comprehensive digital library program. Leads Digital Projects Team and manages projects. Identifies content and seeks new partners for digital initiatives. Designs and maintains web presence for the program. Performs usability studies. Promotes use of the library’s digital collections through classroom demonstrations, at meetings and conferences. Serves as library’s representative to various consortia for shared digital projects.

Requirements: Broad knowledge of digital library practices including rights management and preservation. Strong project manager with demonstrated collaborative ability and a strong desire to innovate. Web design and programming experience. Knowledge of a wide variety of media including text, music, still images, audio and video. Familiarity with some or all of these metadata standards: MARC, EAD, TEI, VRA Core, Dublin core, MODS, and METS. Experience with SGML/XML and digital asset management systems, such as CONTENTdm or Dspace. Javascript, MySQL, and/or PHP preferred. MLS or related graduate degree required. Hiring salary: $49,338-$57,144.
