Special Information:
Recruitment is open until position is filled.  In order to guarantee consideration for the first round of interviews, applications must be received no later than October 1, 2007.
 
To further Montana State Library and program goals of providing permanent public access to state government information, the incumbent provides bibliographic control and access to tangible media and digital resources, including print and digital monographs/serials, at the Montana State Library. A secondary focus includes the cataloging of online resources, archived web pages, institutional repository materials and record sets. The incumbent is also heavily involved in many of the State Library’s digital library collection initiatives.
 
The incumbent is responsible for performing original and complex OCLC member cataloging.  The incumbent must also explore, learn, and utilize the most relevant non-MARC metadata formats to provide the most appropriate access for the resources our users need. The Montana State Library is an OCLC member, uses OCLC’s CONTENTdm and Digital Archive for its digital object management, and Sirsi/Dynix Unicorn as its integrated library system.  Familiarity with these products will be beneficial.
