The incumbent will supervise the Systems Department; oversee the Libraries' technology infrastructure, web services, and other production and discovery technologies (Innovative Interfaces Encore discovery services platform and the Grokker visual search technology by Groxis); and is responsible for the Libraries' ILS (Ex Libris ALEPH). The Head of Library Technology researches and assesses library and information technology trends and advises accordingly. Works with University Information Technology Services; and represents the Libraries' information technology interests within the University and in SUNY-wide initiatives. This position reports to the Associate Director of Libraries. Librarians at Binghamton University are members of the faculty and are expected to contribute significantly to the profession as well as to perform their specific duties.
