University of Kentucky School of Library and Information Science Assistant Professor School Media Librarianship Position Title: Assistant Professor (Special Title Series) Description: Academic year appointment with strong expectation of summer teaching (at extra compensation), tenure track position with responsibilities for teaching, coordinating the school media program, advising, providing statewide leadership regarding school media development, participation in professional activities at regional and national level, and serving on university committees. Areas of Teaching and Service Responsibility: School media libraries, including familiarity with information technology applications in P-12, and literature and related materials. Coordination of the school media program, including state certification for rank change. Qualifications: Doctoral degree in library and information science or in a related field with Master's degree in library and information science from an ALA accredited program; professional experience in school media and evidence of teaching competency are required.
