JEFFERSON COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES
 ROANOKE, VA
REFERENCE LIBRARIAN


Due to the growth of all the departments and programs at Jefferson College
of Health Sciences (JCHS), the college is currently recruiting for a
reference librarian who will be responsible for the development of
graduate collection and on-line resources, teaching of students in the
area of information literacy, and support of faculty in graduate education
with emphasis on supporting development of information literacy across the
graduate curricula. 
Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited
school is required. Knowledge of emerging technologies and electronic
information. Three to five years of reference experience preferred.
Experience in health science library; previous experience teaching
information literacy skills preferred; knowledge of medical, nursing and
allied health collections and electronic resources preferred. 
Other Minimum Qualifications: Skilled in the use of personal computers
and software applications. Ability to perform minor hardware installations
preferred. Excellent people skills and ability to work in a team
environment, ability to work as a faculty member in the areas of
education, scholarship, and service. Strong oral and written communication
skills. Excellent organizational abilities and basic understanding of
educational principles and methodologies.

JCHS is a professional health sciences college, offering graduate and
undergraduate allied healthcare programs. The college is rapidly
expanding, with a current enrollment of approximately 1000 students.
