University -- Florida
 
VICE PRESIDENT FOR INFORMATION SERVICES AND UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN FORT
LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA
Nova Southeastern University's libraries are known nationally for
excellence in services to distance education students, traditional
campus-based students and to the South Florida community. Technology is
employed to increase both the efficiency and effectiveness of the library
system. NSU's main library, Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and
Information Technology Center, is the largest library building in Florida,
with 325,000 square feet. It is a joint-use facility between the Broward
County Board of County Commissioners and NSU, and provides programs and
resources for Broward County residents as well as NSU's students, faculty
and staff. The facility is ultramodern, utilizing both wireline and
wireless technology. The spacious building includes individual study
rooms, large conference rooms, exhibit areas, electronic classrooms, a
cafe, and the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center.This position
provides strategic leadership as well as general administration of all NSU
on and off-campus libraries and electronic information services, including
the law library of Shepard Broad Law Center, and the medical library of the
Health Professions Division. Candidate must have at least a Master's degree
in Library and Information Science or related degree. Preferably hold
