Position Announcement Turner Entertainment Atlanta, GA Media Content Analyst This search is re-opened (8/8/07). This position will be filled immediately. This is a 6 month full-time temporary staff appointment with the possibility of permanent status. This position is strongly compensated to reflect the advanced skills needed. Turner Entertainment seeks qualified candidates for a Media Content Analyst position. Media Content Analysts work in a team setting. Principal duties include cataloging and indexing digital media. This position requires solid computer skills including experience with databases, strong writing skills, good organizational skills and an ability to identify moving image subject content. Experience in the broadcast industry is especially helpful. Indexing and cataloging experience make you an excellent candidate. Prior moving image cataloging and indexing experience strongly desired. Job Responsibilities: Media Content Analysts are tasked with viewing and creating rich descriptive metadata for digital media. Under the guidance of the Digital Archivist, analysts describe media asset content and assign index terms and keywords to our media. Index terms and keywords chosen reflect the needs of our clients and all metadata is assigned in adherence to industry standards and in-house guidelines. Media Content Analysts also suggest term list enhancements and make recommendations in support of ongoing standards development and process improvement. Qualifications: Master's degree in Library and Information Studies or a degree in a related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with basic Microsoft Office programs; familiarity with databases and data entry; broad knowledge of moving image history and the cable television industry; strong attention to detail; ability to quickly recognize moving image details; ability to research, analyze, and evaluate data; ability to follow detailed instructions; familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) applications and experience cataloging moving image materials, desired. Preferred candidates hold an master's degree in Library and Information Science and have demonstrated indexing experience (text or moving image).
